THEOLOGY: Man’s Arrogant Justification for Trying to Fit God into our own Imagination
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? How dare the insurrectionists, the thieves, the robbers, and the violent men who — since Jesus walked this earth — have tried to take the Kingdom of Heaven by force, act as if the God who created us is ours and ours alone! But He chose us; we did not choose Him. He died for us; we did not die for Him. He gave us His Spirit; we gave Him absolutely nothing — not even our pitiful lives in gratitude for all that He has done for us. Yet, you dare to try to take His place as Lord of all.
Throughout the history of the relationship that God chose to have with a people He would call His own, an undeniable and inescapable reality has always existed. The fact that the one true God would create a man in His own image, breathe the breath of life into that image so it became a living soul, and watch that living soul turn around in a seemingly short period of time to disobey his Father and choose himself over his God, speaks to a devastating truth: when given the opportunity, mankind will always put “me first.”
You preach the theological concept of total depravity, claiming that it leads to the unworthiness of a sinful man having a relationship with our Father. But I am not sold on that doctrine. Because if that were the case, God would have destroyed Adam, Eve, and the earth the minute sin came in through man’s disobedience and corrupted his entire being.
In addition, there is a truth that you overlook to this very day: before God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden and the tree of life, He provided a covering for their nakedness. He prevented them from dying in their sins and being separated from the Father for all eternity by placing a cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the path to the tree of life. Let’s not forget that He even warned Cain before he killed his brother. Doesn’t sound like total depravity to me!
I base this on these two verses (though there are many more):
- Revelation 13:8: “The lamb slain from the foundation of the world,”
- Romans 5:8: “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
This means that the Godhead understood what He would have to deal with when He made man from the dust of the earth in a world He knew mankind would be drawn to. It also means that the Godhead was not taken by surprise when mankind disobeyed!
However, after the Apostles — those “holy men of God who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Peter 1:21) — died, the arrogance of man set itself in the seat of God, and you created a system of soteriology — a formula for how you, if you were god, would require mankind to earn saving grace!
How arrogant! How absurd! How heretical! How antichrist!
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? How dare you “bag holders” — the Judases of today who sell Him out for money, power, fame, nice cars, expensive jets, and gated mansions — act as if the lie that you preach is not another Jesus, another spirit, and a different gospel! You build your mega-churches like the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11 to hold the “fishes and loaves” followers whom you catch in the theological spell you cast. You paralyze them by telling them that Jesus died so that you can command the God who created the world to give you what you want, how you want it, and when you want it.
It is another gospel — a counterfeit that creates the delusion that Jesus died that brutal death just so you can fulfill your fleshly desires, love the world more than you love God, and still get into heaven! Your kiss of death on the cheek of the Master every time you claim to be a god or boast that you have His anointing proves just how deep the enmity runs in your soul with the almighty God whose glory you have been trying to steal and whose authority you have been trying to usurp since the Garden of Eden! Because of this theology, born of your twisted imagination, you claim that the focus of Psalm 82 is verse 6 — “I said you are gods” — however, take heed: because the linguistic anchor of the Psalm is verse 7 — “But you will die like mere mortals!”
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? How dare you — you leaders of the rebellion, teachers of the false doctrines that turn people away from God! How dare you try to pass off unbiblical, extrabiblical, mystical, mythical, magical fabrications and lies inspired by seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, as biblical truth and call it “progressive revelation”! You suppress the truth in your unrighteousness. You not only make your followers hate the truth, but make them completely unable to endure sound doctrine, causing them to turn their ears from the truth and be turned unto fables (2 Timothy 4:3–4).
How dare you tarnish the testimony of Jesus by perverting prophecy so that it brings you personal gain! How dare you “21st-centuryize” prophecies that can be proven historically to have been fulfilled in antiquity! How dare you mix prophecy with politics to try to spark Armageddon, force Jesus to return, destroy the antichrist, and start His thousand-year reign on earth with you and the other “manifested sons of god” who supposedly had to establish the Kingdom on earth before Jesus could return!
How foolish! How ridiculous! How disturbing! How antichrist!
This theology of dominance is condemning both you and all your followers to an eternity of darkness and torment. But ironically, deep down inside, you know this is true — yet you refuse to repent of your wicked ways, love the truth, and be saved!
Since the first century, heretical teachers who are eloquent and articulate orators have crept into the church — speaking lies and blasphemies, prophesying presumptuously, and using worldly wisdom and their own imagination to teach as doctrines the commandments of men (Matthew 15:9).
But, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? How dare you, the lost sheep, follow these men and put them on pedestals! Like the church at Corinth that was full of division — crying “I am of Paul” or “I am of Apollos” — in this generation you say: “I am Catholic,” “I am Protestant,” “I am Evangelical,” “I am Pentecostal,” “I am Charismatic,” “I am Reformed,” “I am Conservative,” or “I am Progressive.” Each one is exclusive, meaning you all blindly believe that your specific theology is the only right theology — the one that makes the Kingdom of Heaven your home and yours alone! It is your own itching ears that have created over 42,000 Christian denominations and over 250 in this country alone!
How absurd! How broken! How disloyal! How antichrist!
How dare you cite as infallible the words of men who are not just imperfect because of their humanity, but who — if you actually took the time to study their history, which you don’t — are inevitably revealed to be charlatans, crooks, racists, idolaters, adulterers, and sexually immoral, perverted men whose lives were full of debauchery and unrepentant sin! How dare you exalt them over those who are truly holy, who are in relentless pursuit of perfection, struggling against sin rather than running with it, and who know they are preaching in weakness because of their flesh, so that the perfect and perfecting Word of God comes solely from the call on their lives and, most importantly, by the power of the Holy Spirit! But you do it because you like what they tell you, and you are just as guilty and sinful as they are! That’s why judgment has already started in the church.
God saved us from ourselves. But these manmade theologies of Free Grace and the modern Deliverance Movement not only hide that truth — they outright deny it and replace it with a lie. They tell you that the only way to solve your problems with besetting sins is to get a devil cast out of you! And if you didn’t know, this heretical theology is talking about Christians!
Don’t believe that lie. God has already done everything you need for true deliverance, but you have to walk it out by faith!
My upcoming booklet, “Pick Up Your Cross and Follow Me: You Don’t Have a Demon, You Have a Flesh Problem,” will help you do exactly that. Stay tuned for the launch!
