The Spirit of the Antichrist and the end of the age. 

In these last days, authoritarianism has been on the rise! In fact, since the beginning of time, men of great stature, even if only in their minds, have tried to conquer and rule the world! These men are and have been the embodiment of a spirit that for millenniums has been setting up an atmosphere for a malefactor who is an egomaniac, narcissist, tyrant, and terrorist, who is also a wealthy religious and political fanatic, and who quite possibly will be homosexual according to Daniel 11:37, to arise in the final hours of this world and wreak havoc! This man is known as the Antichrist! Now, those who come before him and who are driven by the spirit of the antichrist are and were known as strongmen, dictators, and authoritarians! However, whether they knew it or not, they are all a part of the devil’s futile plan to rule the world!

Those of us who believe in the Godhead (God the Father, Jesus Christ, his Son, and the Holy Spirit) understand that we’re living in the days before Jesus’s return. However, we may not realize that every generation of Christians before us and after Jesus ascended emphatically believed that Jesus would return in their lifetime! Additionally, they were emphatic in their belief that the strongmen, dictators, and authoritarians of their day were the Antichrist! That same emphatic belief is evident in this generation as well! Why? Because the appearance of the antichrist is the preeminent sign of Christ’s imminent return! That’s found in 2nd Thessalonians 2:1–12 So from the first century until now men driven or possessed by the spirit of the antichrist like Nero, Titus, Antiochus Epiphanus, Genghis Khan, Adolf Hitler, Mao Zedong, Saddam Hussein, and Vladimir Putin have knowingly and unknowingly advanced the devil's plan to rule the world, but not knowing that the malefactor they have been setting the stage for will be destroyed at the appearance of our Savior Jesus Christ, the Lord of lords and the King of kings! That's found in 2nd Thessalonians 2:8

2nd Thessalonians 2:3 says we won’t know who this malefactor is until he is revealed! However, with that in mind, I believe there is clear evidence that the spirit of the Antichrist is working overtime in 2025 to clear the way for the Antichrist to be revealed! But I want to be clear here, I am not predicting, prophesying, or prognosticating who this malefactor is, what I am doing is pointing out both the obvious and not-so-obvious! I understand that there are different points of view on the subject of who this man was, is, or might be and that there are different eschatological beliefs, however, the Bible is emphatic about the workings of the spirit of the antichrist which according to 2nd Thessalonians 2:7 is called the “mystery of iniquity” or the “secret power of lawlessness.”

This is why the Antichrist is called in the original Greek ὁ ἄνθρωπος τῆς ἀνομίας=ho anthrōpos tēs anomías or the“man of lawlessness” in verse 3. The Biblical definition of lawlessness is twofold. #1 Wickedness or the source of the actions and deeds that cause someone to break the rules, statutes, edicts, commandments, and laws that hold back lawlessness. #2 Absolute Immunity, which is both the power to be lawless by eliminating or removing rules, statutes, edicts, commandments, and laws that hold back lawlessness, and the power to rewrite them or establish new ones to enforce Absolute Immunity and to oppress, punish, or exact vengeance on your enemies, real and perceived! Think about that for a minute and then think about what we’re seeing not just in the world but throughout world history, and in the United States today!

This country has never had a strongman, a dictator, or authoritarian leadership! In fact, up to this point, the citizens of this country would not stand for it! Why? Because what is enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution is the founding idea that this country was established so that one man could not rule the whole country! But with the Supreme Court decision and the election results in 2024, the second inauguration of this current president, and the voluntary capitulation of Congress in 2025, all that has changed! Many would say that “SCOTUS” turned the office of the President into the seat of an Autocrat, and from now on, anyone who is elected to or holds that office is untouchable! This means that the words of Richard Milhous Nixon, the 37th president of the United States, were prophetic when he said, “Well, when the president does it, that means that it is not illegal.” However, there is a difference between those who came before and the one who is to come!

So, the difference between the current and historical strongmen, dictators, and authoritarians, who are driven or possessed by the spirit of the Antichrist, and the actual personification of that spirit or the Antichrist himself is the scope of his lawlessness. In general, those who came before were limited to their area of influence, and at different times in history, some of their areas of influence were vast and long-lived. However, the coming malefactor’s influence will be short-lived but will cover the entire world! We are now seeing the conglomeration and corroboration between strongmen, dictators, and authoritarians to stand against democratic rule. At the same time, the President of the United States is trying to force his will on the entire world!

This tariff war is a power grab to see how far his influence can reach! The Chinese strongman and other heads of state who are and were our allies, like the E.U., are trying to go toe to toe with him. The question is, who will blink first? There is only one goal in this war, and that's world domination! World domination and removal of what is holding the Antichrist from being revealed is a prophecy yet to be fulfilled! I believe what’s holding back world domination and the reveal of the Antichrist is the removal of the rules, statutes, edicts, commandments, and laws so that Absolute Immunity or lawlessness prevails worldwide! That’s what 2nd Thessalonians 2:7 means when it says the“mystery of iniquity” or the “secret power of lawlessness,” is at work! That’s what I meant when I said the spirit of the Antichrist is working overtime to clear the way for the Antichrist to be revealed!
